Kathleen Heidemann lives and works in Pawling, New York. She handbuilds her pieces primarily from slabs. Surface decoration, an important aspect of her work, is informed by a background in painting, drawing and printmaking. Such decoration is achieved through painting with slip or underglaze, mishima or handmade stamps. Depictions of flora and fauna exist alongside geometric patterns.
